Class Agenda 3.11

1. Quiz

2. Note to professor: what are your Moffett research plans? Also: questions about the assignment; questions about the course; any confusions you're having; issues I need to know; feelings of anxiety; explanations you need; and any pedagogical reasons you'd like to use notes for quizzes?

3. Announcements: Writing Center Observation hours will be banked beginning next week; we are lining up classes for our own student tutoring and we will likely have the four sessions we should.

4. Reading discussion: new pairs

5. Video and discussion: What Makes for Good teaching?

6. Video: What happens in the Writing Center?

7. Blogging: post your first in-class blog. This blog will function as the 'diagnostic.' That is, I will read this blog to get a sense about how your summarize, organize, and compose your writing both in relation to the questions below and in relation to your own craft, voice, etc.

Blog question(s):

1) Based the Writing Center videos, what makes a tutorial successful and what are we looking for as we begin our observations next week?

2) [time-permitting]: What are the common points between what makes for good 'teaching' and what makes for 'good writing.'
